Plan the week
House rules
Learn how to create a house rule, see how it affects your week, and find out when Bryti might adjust it.House rules let you shape your week of dinners the way you want. For each rule, you choose if it’s required or just a preference. On the Rules page, you’ll see each rule written out, along with its effect on your week, such as “2 dinners this week”.Bryti understands this as two rules and shows a card for each. You can accept the ones you want. You can find the form under Add rule on the Rules page. There are five types of rules:Using “only” makes this a rule that must be followed. If you say “preferably”, the rule can be adjusted in a tight week, and the day says so.
Say your rule or fill it in
Fish twice a week, but not on Fridays
- How often per week: a category at least or at most so many times a week.
- Never on certain days: a category never on the days you pick.
- Fixed day for a category: a category on a set weekday, like vegetarian Thursdays.
- Max time at the stove: set a maximum number of active minutes, from 5 to 240. You can apply this to certain weekdays, a single date, or every day. For example, “At most 30 minutes on weekdays” is one rule.
- Price: cheap food, or cheap to mid-priced, on the days you pick. Monday to Friday are selected to begin with.
Worth knowingA “prefer” rule can be adjusted if the week is tight. Bryti will ask you first, and the Week page will show which rule was changed and why. A “must hold” rule never bends.
Cheap food on weekdays
A dish is considered cheap if each portion costs less than 30 kroner. This amount is based on store prices for the ingredients, and your own receipts take over as they come in.On days when the rule applies, the price category appears next to each dish on the Week page and in Swap, with the cheapest options listed first. On the Rules page, you can see how many days followed the rule and which days Bryti adjusted.Only cheap food on weekdays
Before you have rules
If you haven’t set any rules yourself, Bryti uses Default rules (Helsedirektoratet), which is based on Norwegian dietary advice. These are marked as default on the page. They help guide your week but never prevent planning, and they are replaced as soon as you add your own rule.Change and remove
Tap a rule to open it in the same form. If you tap Remove next to it, the rule is removed immediately and won’t be used the next time Bryti plans.Undo appears at the bottom of the page for a short time. In the chat, saying “drop the fish rule” works the same way.If you set tonight’s dinner time on Home and pick “Every Friday”, that also counts as a rule. It will be listed here next to the cooking-time limit, so you can always see what Bryti remembers.NoteIf you request a rule in the chat, it will appear as a card for you to accept before Bryti saves it. This does not happen if you have selected Apply everything automatically in the settings. Only adults can change rules.
